The comfort and wearability stopped when playing 18 holes of golf (walking - no cart). I played on a hot humid day in Florida and by the third hole they were far enough down my heel that my heels were wearing on my golf shoes. By the end of the day I had a blister on each heel and one on a toe of my right foot (I favor my right leg due to knee injury so that's why the blister appeared on my toe as well). The socks seemed unable to wick moisture very well and felt as if they were not providing any layer between my feet and my shoes.
I walk 18 holes a lot but typically with some Adidas ankle length socks and I've never had blisters (even when the shoes were brand new). I even attempted to apply some bandaging to the blisters and go out again but it made no difference. The bandages were pulled off due to the friction between the socks and my shoes. Thankfully it was only 9 holes so I was able to deal with it for a short time.
If these socks are used for casual use, then I would recommend them. They retain their fit and the silicone strips on the heels keep them in place. But for walking golf, I would not recommend them. I'm not sure about other activities but I would imagine (at least in my case) the same thing would occur. My golf shoes are as comfortable as a high quality running shoe (Asics Gel Course Duo Boa).
